Overview

Type: Ocean, Boat Dive (Makai Mist)
Partner: Amy N.

Stunning dive along he eastern reef of Emerald Cove. Transited north from boat-mooring on row R, then east along the blue-water side of the reef and Indian Rock. Good visibility, lots of kelp and creatures. Nice current moving us along eastward. Very nice dive. Surprised a large Pacific Octopus ensconsed, openly, in a jumble of rock with overhead. Separately, saw octopus eggs in an encrusted glass jar. Many, many, fish. Horned shark. Extremely strong current as we tried to round Indian Rock on the east end. Current, which as counter to the current for most of the dive, was so strong, I aborted that portion of the dive plan and turned the team around and headed back west. Very nice dive. All parties did great in adverse conditions of strong current.
